LCD Timer Vertical Battery Grip for Nikon D80 and D90 makes photographing in a vertical position much easier and provides a better handling of your camera especially when you are using heavy lenses. The battery grip provides more energy for your camera than a normal storage battery would. The battery compartment holds either two lithium batteries (original or third-party manufacturer) or a battery magazine for six AA NiMh batteries. It is also equipped with a vertical-grip shutter button, dial, AE lock/FE lock button, and AF point selector button to enable exposure time setting etc. as well as the infrared remote sensor function. Fast shipping!! Nice product, worked perfectly on my Nikon D90. Yes, it's light weight plastic, but just as long as you don't drop it, should last. Even though it adds weight, the grip really gives a solid feel to the camera. Makes it easier to hold when not in the shooting position. An added bonus is I don't need to wear a watch while shooting trackside anymore!!! :-) One minor note...... The verticle position button has a different feel to it, but I'm sure the more I use it, the more comfortable I will be.... I showed the grip to other shooters and they were equally impressed with the grip and thought it was a good value for the $$. It's almost unheard of these days, but I was contacted by the manufacturer's customer sevice, asking my opinion of their product!!!!! Satechi is on the right path for repeat customers. I was intrigued by the many reviews I read about the Satechi LCD Timer Vertical Battery Grip for the Nikon D80/D90. Like many, I purchased this product as an alternative to the more-expensive Nikon MB-D80 grip, especially since this one offers a digital LCD, an intervalometer and other options. However, when I received the Satechi grip, I was very disappointed with the plastic feel and toy-like construction. While I was expecting slightly less quality than the Nikon alternative, I was surprised at how thin, flimsy and poorly constructed the Satechi was. There is NO rubberized grip on any surface and the whole thing feels like it will split open at the seams if ever mishandled. It rattled like a toy and I think it made my D90 look like one too. Plus, I didn't like the way the buttons are located where one's thumb rests when holding the camera vertically (which, of course, is the whole point).
I was REALLY disappointed, as I had been looking forward to putting it to use. And after stopping by a local camera store to actually feel the Nikon MB-D80 grip, I am returning the Satechi today. The Nikon is FAR superior in build and feel. In fact, surprisingly superior.
That being said, the Satechi does have many positives for those who don't mind the feel. For one, it was delivered faster than the original estimate. And the intervalometer would definitely be fun to use (though Satechi offers a TR-M Timer Remote Control for Nikon D90 with an intervalometer that I might try, since I have no problem with the Satechi company). The grip appeared to perform as advertised in every other way. But for me, the thicker (rubberized) feel of the Nikon outweighs all of the benefits of the Satechi. I wish I had just gone with the Nikon to begin with - I hate waiting! Hopefully the return process will go as smoothly as the purchase.

Received my battery grip well before the estimated delivery date. I was packaged very well and in excellent condition. Looks great on my camera and it helps me avoid worrying about looking for batteries and concentrate on taking pictures. I love the LCD timer. Very happy with the great service and will definitely buy from them again and recommend them to my friends.

I found this in the Amazon web site being supplied by Satechi. Looking at most of the review and being convinced that it is a good accessory for my D90. I placed an order and found that the total cost with >USD35 for shipping and handling, the total cost amount to >NZD250 and I got it in 7 days which is good. But during the interim, I searched through the net and found the same item under other logos like Linked delight and U-color and a few more from eBay [[ASIN:B00192NV0Y LCD Timer Vertical Battery Grip for Nikon D80 and D90 which is only half of the price and free shipment from Hong Kong to any part of the world. I felt ripped off and stupid for not searching more before I placed the order. To be fair, the unit itself works fine, less than the price of a genuine Nikon but with more features. I also ordered 2x ENEL3e 2000mAH li-ion rechargeable battery from eBay for only NZD45( approx USD27 ) which runs the camera forever. With the 6x AA battery cartridge and my own rechargeable batteries, you will never run out of battery for the whole day photography like wedding.
