"Not recommended for use on different lenses." 2009-09-12

This is not meant for moving between lenses. Construction doesn't hold up over repeated use; the tab is pretty weak. Also doesn't enable wide-angle (28mm and below) lenses to adapt to the Canon body.

 "save $5, or not" 2009-09-10
By Michael J. Markowitz (Chicago, IL)
would agree with the [...] review: attachment/removal are easy enough and the slight rotational play of mounted lenses seems innocuous. can't imagine why anyone would buy one of the >$200 versions. looking forward to using my old Nikkor PC lens on a new Canon body. (if memory serves, i had to use stop-down metering with that lens on my F2 as well.) may even try coupling this adapter with a reversing ring for extreme macro use.[...].

update: my suggestion to buy direct from Fotodiox on e-bay and save $5 apparently gets edited out by Amazon. what should i expect? anyway, the Fotodiox "Pro" version of this product (~$75 on e-bay/~$85 here) seems much studier (and likely to stand up to repeated attachment/removal) and doesn't have the same (~1mm?) lens-to-body rotational play. much tighter connection, but i'm not sure that's worth the extra bucks. finally, i have not tried the even higher-end "exposure confirmation" versions (with attached chip) out there, but reviews elsewhere express grave concerns about it.

"Worked as described for my purposes" 2009-08-23
By Galen C. Evans (Tucson, AZ USA)
I purchased this adapter with the hope that I could get an old Nikkor-P 1200mm lens to work on my Canon EOS 5D. After doing a bit of research, I learned that one can spend anywhere from $10 to $200 for one of these things, depending on the manufacturer, model, and whether one wants focus confirmation (helpful when shooting in darker conditions). Before shelling out a big chunk of change, I opted for this adapter at $30 - which seemed a reasonable price to pay to just see if these adapters would work as promised. Delivery was prompt. The adapter fit quite nicely on the Nikkor lens, and the adapted lens then fit easily and snugly on the Canon camera. As advertised, this model limits function to manual focus and metering.

Other reviews that I've read suggested that the fit might degrade over time, but I don't expect to be removing this often enough for it to be an issue. There are four tiny screws holding the two main parts of the adapter together which loosened somewhat, but these were easily tightened with a jeweler's screwdriver and I've had no further issues.

For two detailed articles on the this adapter with my 5D, visit my homepage link on my profile.

For the old Nikkor F lenses that I have, I think this model adapter works just fine, and I have no problem with the lack of focus confirmation that the higher priced models provide.

 "This works great" 2009-07-19
By Ted A. Maurino (San Lorenzo, CA United States)
I was hesitant to buy this adapter since the few reviews were not very enthusiastic. But I was anxious to try using my 300mm Nikkor lens on my Canon DSLR. And for $30 why not try it?

The lens adapter is all metal and fits nicely between the lens and the camera. The lens has to be used only in aperture priority and in manual focus but I usually use this lens in manual focus when using it on my Nikon F100.

I am quite pleased with the pictures taken using this adapter on my Canon DSLR's (both the 40D and the Rebel XT). I would not hesitate to recommend adding one of these adapters to your camera bag.

 "perfectly adequate" 2009-03-03
By DP
I used these to attach some Nikon and Zeiss manual-aperture lenses to my Canon EOS 5D Mark II to regain manual control over aperture settings when shooting video. They worked fine, no big issues.

I wish the little tab you use to unlock the adapter from the lens were a bit more solidly-built; it feels like it might break after maybe 100+ operations. This is the reason (among several others) that I'm buying a few more units of this adapter, so I can just attach one to each of my Nikon manual lenses and leave them there.

Overall, for the price they're perfectly fine. I can't justify spending $150 apiece for the competing brands, not right now at least. I'm hoping I won't be proven wrong in the long run :)
