I got this camera as a Christmas present and it just confirmed my reasons for not buying something like this before I read reviews and compared to similar cameras. Overall the style and ease of use are fabulous but the picture quality is absolutely horrible. In the past I have had Canon point and shoot cameras that were AA battery operated but I wanted one that had a rechargeable battery because the flash reset on the Canons was very slow. I chose the Nikon because it had the 5x zoom and a rechargeable battery. The only Canons that I could find with the rechargeable battery in my price range had 3x zoom and I had always had ones with 6x so I didn't want to give up that option. I chose the Nikon. I have never ever taken so many blurry pictures in my lifetime. I am by no means a professional photographer but I have taken lots of pictures and the quality with the Canon's was far better than the Nikon. Also after taking a picture the review mode takes forever and there is no way to adjust the length of time to review the picture which my Canon allows me to do. So basically I went from slow flash reset to slow picture review and I am still missing some good shots. So I put it in a drawer and bought a Canon Power Shot SD780 IS and it is a far superior camera. The zoom is only 3x but for picture quality and overall camera quality I can give up some zoom.

This is my second Nikon S570 camera purchased and both were bad pretty much out of the box. I bought the first from Walmart and the lens froze within the first 5 minutes of use. I bought the second S570 on Amazon because of the reviews and it didn't work out of the box. The screen was blank and you couldn't even shut it off unless you pulled the battery out. That's the last Nikon that I purchase.

The s570 is a very good camera, its sturdy, stylish, portable, easy to use, and it has a very reasonable price tag. The only problem is that if your trying to take many pictures quickly it wont always work to well for that, it cant take many pictures quickly at one time.
But overall this camera is very good, i would defiantly recommend it.

This Nikon Coolpix camera is awesome! I've used it already a few times in video mode and the quality is fantastic. Shooting introductory surfing video (from a distance)was SO easy and good for a beginner. Quick shots (a feature of quick rapid action intended) still photographs was FANTASTIC! I would buy this as a gift, everyday use and beginner camera. Initial Amazon price earlier on crushed Best Buy but rebounded just prior to purchase, but still beat BB and I only went to the store for my initial hands-on research. Shipping was fast through our seller! I am totally sold on the ease of use, quality and capability of this camera. You should be too! Taking multi-use video and stills can not be easier than on this camera!
