Mine fails to recognize the SD card from time to time (probably a contact problem), but it makes no sense to return it - just order a second one.

The platform-like insert design makes it really easy to slide the card in an out. The card reader worked right away without complications. I was transferring pictures and videos, and was surprised to how fast the download was compared to the phone-to-computer cable I had before between the phone (which stopped working).
The card reader is really small - it is dime size in width and <1" in length, so it may be easy to loose it. However, it came with a "leash" and it can be put on a keychain or another device, so it is not a big deal.
I did not notice the heat problems, but that may be because I was transferring smaller batches of files: ~10 files, total ~15MB, the files were 0.5-1.5MB each.
I cannot speak to durability yet, this is just first experience. For the price ($2.5 no tax, no s&g), it cannot be beat.

First I want to say this is a great device because it's just what I needed, then it's small enough to fit on my key chain, then it is very sturdy, and finally it can accept the two most used memory cards that I use (Micro/M2). As a bonus I got this thing at a great price. You can't go wrong with this purchase by my standards.

Being very a small size some times make it difficult to plug in. Included lanyard makes it alot easier to keep track of. Got a few for family memebers. Really makes transfering files easier
